For many years, African American women have felt pressured to conform to social standards of beauty.  But has that pressure made it difficult for them to express their racial individuality?

Sola is a pediatric nurse with over five years of experience in the Level 1 Trauma Program at Boston Children's Hospital. In 2010, Sola volunteered to travel to Haiti to give medical assistance to victims affected by the devastating earthquake. During this trip, Sola constantly kept family and friends updated on her daily activities by emailing and blogging about her adventures. She soon realized that she loved the thrill of discovering interesting stories and sharing them with the world.
