Cars have them, motorcycles have them, bikes have them, so do trains and planes, but skateboards don’t. I’m talking about brakes. The way to brake on a skateboard is called a slide, a method of turning where the friction of the wheels against the pavement causes the board to decrease in speed.
As such a commonly used function of skateboarding, the slide has taken on various styles. Below, members of Boston LB explain the slide and showcase it’s various forms.
