Whether you are for or against an expanded bottle bill, millions of people and hundreds of businesses will be affected by a possible expansion. Updating the existing Massachusetts Container Recovery Law of 1982, the bottle bill, will mean adding a nickel deposit to just about every beverage container sold in Massachusetts. This could be good news for the environment, but it may affect how everyday people recycle and it will certainly impact the stores who have to take back the containers.
