The CrossFit conversation begins

The Centers for Disease Control reports nearly 25 percent of Boston’s adults are considered overweight or obese, despite the Hub being one of the top five per capita U.S. cities for gym memberships.

CrossFit, a fast-paced workout, could be the answer for people looking for something more interactive than a standard treadmill session. Many members feel that the sport’s unique sense of community sets it apart from other fitness trends, giving them a long-term fitness plan along with a new group of like-minded supporters. However, some experts don’t agree with the sport’s intensity, and the longevity of the young sport is still developing.
