In 2015, Chris Mosier became the first transgender man to join Team USA, qualifying for the 2016 World Championship sprint duathlon. He advocates for transgender athletes and sports inclusion in schools across the country. Mosier also helped the Framingham School Committee compile its new inclusive sports participation policy.
Additionally, Mosier is the vice president of program development and community relations for You Can Play, which is an organization that promotes equality, fairness and inclusion for all athletes.
You Can Play challenges student athletes to be ambassadors for change. Matt Noah accepted the challenge. The Framingham High School football player and wrestling captain recently finished making Framingham High School’s own You Can Play video.
“Anyone should be able to play any sport regardless of who you are or what you identify as,” Noah said. “If you can play, you can play.”
Noah said he wants the video to be a true representation of Framingham High School.
“We tried to make it personal. These are people you know and can relate to. We really wanted to make it special to our high school,” he said.
